Flood mitigation works are required within the Glenside development site and within the South Park Lands. These works are designed to reduce the flow of stormwater in Park Lands Creek which joins with Glen Osmond Creek in Unley to form Keswick Creek. The works will result in a reduction in flows entering the City of Unley under Greenhill Road, thereby reducing the flooding risk to the mainly residential areas downstream.

The proposal is outlined in Section 10.2 of the 2016 Stormwater Management Plan.

Public consultation is now open for the works proposed for South Park Lands.

As part of the works necessary to manage stormwater, mitigate serious flood risks and help safeguard properties across the catchment, the Brown Hill Keswick Creek Stormwater Project is seeking to:

  • Construct a wetland at the southern end of Victoria Park/ Pakapakanthi (Park 16)
  • Undertake channel works and create low level mounding in Blue Gum Park/ Kurangga (Park 20).

To assist in finalising the design work for both of these initiatives the project is engaging with stakeholders and the community.

For further information about the proposed wetland and its design, view the Victoria Park/ Pakapakanthi (Park 16) Information Brochure.

For further information about the proposed channel works and low level mounding, view the Blue Gum Park/ Kurangga (Park 20) Information Brochure.
